5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is still a supporter of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo despite his dud in the Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs. "Same as it was the day before the Super Bowl," Shanahan said of his support for Garoppolo. "There's no difference. He was on his way close to a Super Bowl MVP and we all know we didn't ... make those plays at the end but we made those plays all year, our whole team, that's one of the reasons we were there." In Jimmy G's defense, 2019 was his first full season as a starter in the NFL after backing up Tom Brady in New England for three years and playing just nine games in his first two years in San Fran due to injuries.
