Kyle Freeland Remains Undefeated In September
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland will likely finish out this season as the most unlikely of Cy Young finalists, and he continued to add to his resume by refusing to lose on Tuesday night. Freeland wasn't sharp as he allowed five hits and walked four over 6 2/3 innings, but he limited the damage to just two earned runs and kept his team in the game. The Rockies would go on to lose in extra innings, but the outing meant Freeland still hasn't lost since August 1 and has only lost twice since May. The performance of Jacob deGrom and gaudy strikeout total of Max Scherzer will keep Freeland from taking home the hardware, but if Colorado can pull off a playoff berth, Freeland will be one of the big reasons why.
