Kyle Freeland Exits Early With Blister
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland (finger) was lifted from his outing early on Saturday against the Giants after five innings due to a blister. The left-hander allowed nine hits (one homer) and three earned runs while walking one and striking out five in his five innings before leaving. There's a chance he could miss a start or two, depending on how quickly he can recover from the blister. Freeland has a chance to be special, but pitching half of his games at Coors Field hurts his upside. He's off to a disappointing start with a 5.40 ERA in his four starts, although he does have a nice 9.55 K/9.
