Kolten Wong Aggravates Calf Issue
Kolten Wong (calf) exited Thursday's matchup against Pittsburgh. The timing isn't good, primarily since the veteran missed three games already this week because of the ailment. With the calf tightness not going away, it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that Wong may be nearing a stint on the 10-day injured list. More information should come sometime by Friday, at the latest. However, fantasy managers should plan for the 24-year-old to miss the remainder of the series against the Pirates. If Wong misses more time, Jace Peterson likely stands to benefit at the keystone, although he can't be relied on for consistent production.

Kolten Wong Inks Minors Pact With D-Backs
Kolten Wong to a minor-league deal and have assigned him to Triple-A Reno. Wong has inked a minors deal this offseason with the Orioles but failed to crack the Opening Day roster and once again hit the open market. Following a pair of production seasons at the plate with the Brewers, Wong's bat cratered in a brief stint with the Mariners in 2023, hitting just .183 with four homers, three stolen bases, and a .519 OPS across 87 games in the Pacific Northwest. The D-backs have Ketel Marte as their everyday second baseman but fellow infielder Geraldo Perdomo recently underwent knee surgery and will miss about a month's worth of action.

Kolten Wong Inks Minors Deal With Orioles
Kolten Wong to a minor-league deal that includes an invite to big-league spring training. The 33-year-old has several productive seasons on his resume but suffered a disastrous 2023 campaign. Wong hit just .183 with four home runs, three stolen bases, and a .519 OPS across 87 games split between the Mariners and Dodgers. He hit .165 with a .468 OPS across 67 games with the Mariners before being released and he rebounded to a .300 average and an .853 OPS across 34 plate appearances with the Dodgers. He joins a crowded, youthful, and talented infield in Baltimore as he might be able to provide some veteran insurance behind baseball's No. 1 prospect in Jackson Holliday at the keystone.

Kolten Wong Released By Mariners
Kolten Wong was released by the Seattle Mariners on Friday. The 32-year-old has struggled this season, batting just .165 in 67 games in Seattle. There's a good chance he'll find a new team relatively soon. However, Wong isn't expected to offer much value to fantasy managers. On the other hand, he's still worth monitoring, considering he's had some productive seasons through the years.

Kolten Wong Designated For Assignment
Kolten Wong for assignment. The team also recalled right-hander Trent Thornton from Triple-A Tacoma and optioned right-hander Juan Then and outfielder Taylor Trammell to Tacoma. Wong just could never get going this year in Seattle after the M's acquired him in a trade from the Milwaukee Brewers last offseason. The 32-year-old veteran infielder was hitting just .165/.241/.227 with two home runs, 19 RBI and 21 runs scored in 194 at-bats. The Mariners are giving new acquisition Josh Rojas his first start at the keystone on Tuesday, and Jose Caballero should also mix in at second base moving forward for Seattle.
