Kolby Allard Starting Tuesday
6 years agoAtlanta Braves pitching prospect Kolby Allard is being called up on Tuesday to start against the Marlins in his MLB debut. It will help create an extra day of rest for each starter in the rotation with the Braves in a stretch of playing 31 games in 32 days. Allard is the team's eighth-ranked prospect and was pitching well at Triple-A with a 6-4 record, 2.80 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 87 punchouts in 109 1/3 innings over 18 starts. The southpaw is an intriguing streamer everywhere against a weak Marlins club that just lost Cameron Maybin to a trade. However, Allard might just be making a spot start here, so his value in single-season leagues could be fleeting.
