Kirk Cousins And The Vikings Offense Struggle Against Dallas
3 years agoComing off a season-best performance in Week 6 before the bye last week, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins was a popular choice as a top-10 option this week against a porous Dallas Cowboys pass defense. Instead, Cousins had his lowest yardage total of the season with only 184 yards through the air despite 35 attempts. Cousins came into the week ranked among the lowest in average depth of target at 6.8 yards per pass, but somehow he managed to beat that with a 4.3 yard average against the Cowboys. The Vikings play-calling was questionable, at best, relying on check-downs and intermediate routes instead of testing a beatable Dallas secondary down the field with one of the best wide receiver duos in the league. Cousins and the Vikings will have better days for sure, but let's hope head coach Mike Zimmer and his staff learn to utilize the weapons they have before it costs them their jobs. The Vikings hit the road against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9.
