4 years agoThe Boston Red Sox are expected to place catcher Kevin Plawecki (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday, according to a source. Backstops Connor Wong and Chris Herrmann are both options to be called up from the minors to replace Plawecki on the major league roster. Wong was one of the players the Red Sox received from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Mookie Betts swap. Plawecki suffered the injury on Sunday and is hitting .254/.319/.349 with one homer and three RBI in 26 games while serving as Christian Vazquez's backup in Beantown. The 30-year-old just hasn't gotten enough playing time to be relevant in fantasy, even in two-catcher leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
