Kevin Kiermaier Drives In A Run Wednesday
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier went 1-for-4 Wednesday versus New York Yankees. He scored the first run of the game. He also struck out his last three times at the plate. Kiermaier is off to a horrible start, as he is 2-for-23 with one walk in the first six games of the season. He has not driven in a run or collected an extra-base hit. He also has seven strikeouts in the last three games. The numbers look bad but his track record tells another story. Kiermaier has either tied or set a career high in home runs in each of his past four seasons. He has stolen 16-21 bases the past three seasons. He even set a career-best .276 batting average in 2017. He has missed a lot of games the past two seasons, but if he can stay healthy and start the vast majority of the Rays games, he could set career highs in multiple categories and break into a higher tier of fantasy outfielders.
