6 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (thumb) and shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria (hamstring) both played in the field Friday in their rehab assignment. Both made it through without any apparent setbacks which are a positive step for both. Injuries continue to plague Kiermaier and will cause him to likely suffer a setback in his counting stats for 2018 but he could be a help to fantasy owners in the second-half. Some speculate that the rehab assignment could serve as a showcase in an effort to allow teams to see Hechavarria is healthy with the intent to trade him. Hechavarria is an elite defensive player but few fantasy leagues reward that enough to elevate him. His value at the moment is fairly low.--Jamie Mellor
