Kevin Harvick Has Been Racing With Broken Ribs
During the Verizon 200 at The Brickyard race weekend, Kevin Harvick disclosed that he had been racing with broken ribs recently. "I fell down a flight of steps in Italy," said Harvick, whose son Keelan is racing karts in Europe. "I had a stack of busted ribs." It didn't seem to affect him too much, though, because during that time he was able to post two 4th-place finishes (at Pocono and New Hampshire) along with a 10th-place finish at Richmond. At the Indy Road Course, Harvick struggled for much of the weekend, and after starting back in 38th-place he was able to get up to 23rd-place when the checkered flag waved. Looking to the Playoffs, Harvick now has a 145-point advantage over the cutline with two races remaining. He will be a shoo-in to the Playoffs field unless we get two new winners over the next two races, and then things could get interesting between Harvick and Brad Keselowski (who currently has a 143-point advantage over the cutline).
