Kevin Gausman Picks Up The Win On Wednesday
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Kevin Gausman earned the win on Wednesday when he allowed three runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and one walk over six innings in a 6-3 victory over the Miami Marlins. Gausman wasn't at his best in this one but he did enough to secure the win for Toronto. He didn't allow a run over his first three innings before surrendering a two-run double to Garrett Cooper in the fourth frame. He then came back out for the seventh inning and allowed three straight batters to reach and one run to come around. He was then replaced by Erik Swanson who didn't allow any inherited runners to score. The solid outing gives Gausman a 7-3 record, 3.10 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 127:25 K/BB ratio over 98 2/3 innings (16 starts). He'll get the Giants at home in his next turn.
