With their third-round pick (79th overall), the Washington Nationals selected catcher Kevin Bazzell. Bazzell, 21, out of Texas Tech University, was ranked No. 55 overall by MLB Pipeline. The backstop is athletic and is impressive at the plate with his ability to barrel the ball and make hard contact from the right side of the plate. He is also very disciplined and rarely chases pitches out of the strike zone. Bazzell can also play third base, so it will be interesting to see where the Nationals choose to develop him. Regardless, his bat is impressive enough to add him to the list of exciting prospects for the Nationals.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBallerRead More News
