Ketel Marte Remains Scorching Hot

Although he did not start on Wednesday, Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte stayed hot at the plate with a base hit in his lone pinch-hit appearance. Marte is going through a ridiculous stretch that has seen him go 22-for-34 at the dish, while raising his batting average to .316 in the process. The young infielder has been one of the biggest breakout players in all of baseball this season and this stretch of play is making him a compelling candidate to start at second base for the National League in the All-Star Game.
