Keston Hiura Expected To Be Called Up
4 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers are expected to call up second baseman/first baseman Keston Hiura from Triple-A Nashville, according to a source. Hiura has struggled this year and has bounced back and forth between Milwaukee and the minors, but the Brewers will give him another chance to stick in the big leagues. In two stints with the Brew Crew in 2021, Hiura is slashing .130/.217/.220 over 122 plate appearances with 48 strikeouts and just seven extra-base hits. But at Triple-A he's hit .403/.506/.722 with five home runs and 14 RBI in 72 at-bats. The 24-year-old should remain on dynasty rosters, but those in redraft leagues will need to see some sort of adjustment before they jump back on board. Daniel Vogelbach, who injured his leg on Tuesday, will become a candidate to lose some playing time at first base or land on the injured list.
