Kenley Jansen Secures Ninth Save
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen picked up his ninth save of the season on Wednesday night versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Jansen worked a 1-2-3 inning with a pair of strikeouts to secure a Dodgers victory. Jansen now sports a healthy 1.45 ERA, but he has allowed 15 walks over 18 2/3 innings. Jansen's FIP of 3.99 and his xFIP of 5.05 are discouraging, but the veteran keeps finding ways to get the job done. Managers should expect a regression at some point with the closer allowing so many walks. Now makes for a good time to start shopping the closer and to also consider rostering Blake Treinen as an insurance option.
