Kenley Jansen Feels Light-Headed Friday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox closer Kenley Jansen left his Grapefruit League outing on Friday against the Atlanta Braves after feeling light-headed on the mound, according to manager Alex Cora. However, the skipper also said that Jansen should be fine. Jansen has had issues with an irregular heartbeat in the past, but this apparently doesn't seem to be connected. He was charged with his first blown save of the spring after allowed three earned runs on two hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out none in just one-third of an inning pitched. As long as the 35-year-old veteran closer is able to return in a few days, he should be good to go to open the 2023 regular season as Boston's primary closer.
