Kenley Jansen Blows Save, Bruises Ankle
5 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen (ankle) was limping heavily after his blown save against the Phillies on Tuesday. He was hit by a comebacker in the ninth inning, which bruised his right ankle, and he said he regrets staying in the game. The hard-throwing right-hander took the blown save and loss after allowing four hits and three earned runs in just one-third of an inning. Jansen remains an elite fantasy closer on the best team in baseball, but he's sporting a disappointing 3.72 ERA on the year despite a nice 11.87 K/9 in his 38 2/3 innings. It's entirely possible that Jansen may need to rest up for a few days after this one. Pedro Baez or Joe Kelly could see a save chance if Jansen is unavailable moving forward.
