Kenley Jansen Blows Another Save
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen blew another save on Tuesday night in San Diego. The normally lights-out Jansen has now blown two saves and lost a game already this season. Last year, Jansen blew only one save all season. He looked bad, giving up a home run to Eric Hosmer, then walking a batter, allowing a stolen base, balking and then letting Chase Headley tie the game with a double. The Dodgers eventually won but it taxed the team and the bullpen unnecessarily. The problem doesn't seem to be his velocity. His cutter is fast enough, it's just not cutting. Some of the pitches were straight and the Padres capitalized. It's still early in the season, so sit tight if you own Jansen.
