Ken Giles To Throw Side Session
6 years agoAfter being unavailable in a save situation Monday night, Toronto Blue Jays closer Ken Giles (illness) will throw a side session Tuesday to determine his availability. The decision was announced by manager Charlie Montoyo. Considering Giles was out due to what the team simply called an illness, the fact that he has to throw a side session to determine if he can pitch is surprising. Regardless, his position as the team's closer appears to be safe, regardless if Tuesday's side session doesn't go positively. Joe Biagini picked up the save in Giles' absence.
