Kelvin Herrera Undergoes Surgery
6 years agoWashington Nationals relief pitcher Kelvin Herrera (foot) had surgery last Thursday to fix the torn Lisfranc ligament in his left foot. Herrera will miss the rest of the season. He posted a 2.44 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 7.7 K/9 in 48 outings (44 1/3 innings) between the Royals and Nats this year. He also had 17 saves, although only three of them came with Washington. The right-hander wasn't as effective in his 21 games in the National League (4.34 ERA, 1.71 WHIP).
