Keith Yandle Bought Out By Panthers
3 years agoVeteran Keith Yandle had his remaining contract bought out by the Florida Panthers on Thursday. The 34-year-old defenseman has spent 15 years in the NHL, including the past five seasons with the Panthers. Originally a fourth-round pick of the Phoenix Coyotes, Yandle has played in 1,032 NHL games and recorded 600 points. He was on the outs at the beginning of the season and was scheduled to open the year as a healthy scratch but injuries pushed him back into the lineup and his ironman streak remains intact at 922 straight games. This past season, he scored three goals and recorded 27 points in 56 games. Because of the buyout, he'll remain on the Panthers' payroll for the next four seasons. He'll now become a free agent.
