1 year agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates reinstated third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (back) from the injured list Thursday. Roansy Contreras was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move. Hayes had been out since June 28 with lower back stiffness. The 26-year-old is batting leadoff against Dodgers southpaw Julio Urias in Thursday's game. He is slashing .254/.290/.397 with five home runs, 32 RBI, 34 runs, and eight stolen bases over 303 plate appearances in 2023.
