Ke'Bryan Hayes Goes Back On Injured List
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates placed third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (back) back on the 10-day injured list on Friday and recalled right-hander Cody Bolton from Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move. Hayes just returned from a short stint on the 10-day injured list due to lower-back inflammation on Thursday and went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts, and he finds himself right back on the shelf a day later. The Pirates will give the 26-year-old a bit more time off heading into next week's All-Star break, and he could miss more than 10 days this time around. Rookie Jared Triolo made eight straight starts with Hayes on the IL the first time, so expect him to see most of the starts at the hot corner until Hayes is able to return. Hayes has been pretty mediocre this year with a .252 average (73-for-290) with five homers, 32 RBI and nine stolen bases.
