Utah Hockey Club goaltender Karel Vejmelka will be the man between the pipes for the team on Monday against Seattle. He gets the nod for the first leg of a back-to-back, with Jaxson Stauber likely working on Tuesday against Edmonton in the final game of 2024. Vejmelka has been in good form throughout the campaign but enters Monday's matchup with a losing streak. The Czech netminder has suffered two straight defeats despite allowing only five total goals in meetings with Dallas and Colorado. The losses have dropped Vejmelka's record to 8-9-2. However, he has the fifth-lowest goals-against average in the league at 2.32 and the fourth-best save percentage at .918. The Kraken sit among the league's lowest-scoring teams, so Vejmelka appears to be in a good spot to return to winning ways on Monday night.--Taavi Pailk
