Justin Wrobleski Sent Back To The Minors
4 months agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers optioned left-handed pitching prospect Justin Wrobleski to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday to make room on the roster for right-hander Jack Flaherty, who was acquired on Tuesday in a trade with the Detroit Tigers. Wrobleski, the team's No. 13 prospect per MLB Pipeline, held his own in his first four big-league starts, going 0-1 with a 4.05 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 15 strikeouts and seven walks in 20 innings pitched. He allowed 10 runs (nine earned) while giving up 17 hits (four home runs). The 24-year-old southpaw will head back to the farm to continue his development while giving the Dodgers extra pitching depth down the stretch and for the postseason. Depending on the health of LA's rotation arms next year, Wrobleski could be in competition to open the year in the big leagues in 2025.
