Justin Verlander Strikes Out Nine In Opening Day Win
6 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander struck out nine hitters through seven innings as the Astros beat the Rays 5-1 to open the season. Verlander allowed only one run on three hits as he cruised to his first victory of the season. The right-hander recently just signed an extension to stay with the team for the next three seasons and has appeared to pick up right where he left off last season. Verlander struck out nine or more hitters in 18 of his 34 starts last season and should continue to be an elite fantasy play in his next start.
