Justin Lawrence Implodes In Tuesday's Loss
1 year agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Justin Lawrence blew his fifth save of the season and took the loss in Tuesday's 8-5 game against the Diamondbacks. Lawrence came in to pitch the top of the ninth up by two. He allowed a leadoff single, a double, and a game-tying two-RBI single. He then got the first out on a flyout, allowed a go-ahead RBI double, got the second out on a flyout, and allowed another RBI double before being replaced. His stranded runner eventually came around to score, leaving Lawrence with a final line of five runs on five hits in 2/3 of an inning. The 28-year-old does have 10 saves this season to go with a 3.49 ERA. While the Rockies may not offer a ton of save opportunities, Lawrence does appear to be the arm to roster in deeper roto leagues.
