Montreal Canadiens defenseman Justin Barron has agreed on a new two-year deal with the team, extending his stay with a $2.3 million contract. Barron, who will turn 23 in November, was a restricted free agent. After being acquired in a deal that sent Artturi Lehkonen to Colorado in 2022, Barron has made 92 appearances with the Canadiens. He has amassed 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists), including 13 points (seven goals, six assists) across 48 games in 2023-24. Barron was much busier on the defensive end last term, registering 59 blocks and 61 hits. The former first-round pick will hope to secure a regular spot in the lineup next season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerRead More News
