Julio Teheran Surrenders First-Inning Grand Slam In Loss
7 years agoMaybe Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran was emulating Hall of Famer Tom Glavine on Saturday. Glavine had a history of being vulnerable in the first inning, and that's when Baltimore got to Teheran first, with Mark Trumbo crushing a grand slam. It didn't get any better for the righty - he gave up seven runs in his 4 2/3 innings of work. Fortunately, his balky hamstring didn't appear to be an issue. He'll likely face the Cardinals on the road. Even though St. Louis is toward the bottom of the pack in terms of hitting stats, it might be good to sit him until he shows some consistency.
