Julio Rodriguez Suspended Two Games
2 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez was suspended for two games on Monday for his role in a bench-clearing brawl on Sunday. Rodriguez had an Andrew Wantz pitch thrown near his head earlier in the contest. Wantz then later hit outfielder Jesse Winker on the hip, sparking the incident. According to MLB, Rodriguez was suspended for his actions during the scrum on the field. The star rookie has appealed the suspension and is in the lineup hitting second against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday. Rodriguez is hitting .269 with 11 homers, 38 runs, 35 RBI, and 19 steals on the season.
