Julio Rodriguez Going For X-Rays After Hit By Pitch
1 year agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez (hand) is undergoing precautionary X-rays on Wednesday after getting hit by a pitch on his left hand in the game against the Oakland Athletics. Rodriguez was hit in the hand in the third inning but stayed in for the entire game, so it doesn't seem to be an injury that will keep the 22-year-old All-Star out for an extended period of time. In the 6-3 victory, J-Rod went 1-for-4 with his 31st home run of the year (a solo shot), the hit by pitch and two strikeouts. We'll keep an eye on his X-ray results, but with an off day coming on Thursday, he could be right back in the lineup for the start of a big series on Friday against the division-rival Texas Rangers. Rodriguez is now only the third player in franchise history with a 100-RBI season by the age of 22.
