1 month agoJulianna Pena scored a split-decision win over Raquel Pennington in the co-main event of UFC 307. Pena was ending her two-year-long layoff as she looked to reclaim her women's bantamweight title. Pena started out strong as she outstruck Pennington in the first round and then controlled the champ for the second and third round. Yet, Pena began to slow down as she was dropped in the fourth round and was outstruck in the fifth round. When the final bell sounded, many thought Pennington won rounds 1, 4, and 5 but in the end, it was Pena who won a split decision. With the win, Pena is now a two-time UFC champ and should face Kayla Harrison next.--Cole Shelton
