New York Mets outfielder
Juan Soto came ready to hit in Thursday's series finale against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks, going 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a walk in the team's 4-2 loss. Soto accounted for all of New York's offense in this one and is now up to five home runs on the season with a .252 batting average and .822 OPS. The 26-year-old's first homer came off starter

Kevin Ginkel to bring the Mets to within one run at the time. It's been a pretty disappointing start to Soto's tenure in New York, but the four-time All-Star's fantasy managers will be hoping that this big game is a springboard to more consistent performances. In addition to his five homers, Soto has 14 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases in his 32 games played.

Juan Soto went 2-for-3 with a single, double, walk, and strikeout in his team's 7-4 win against the St. Louis Cardinals. The lefty slugger notched a sac fly, drove in three runs, and scored once. Soto hasn't yet lived up to his billing in his new digs, but he's still been productive. Despite an uncharacteristic .256 average, he's already recorded 16 runs with 12 RBI, five doubles, and three long balls. The power hasn't come around yet for him, but he's still walking a strong 17.7% of the time and holds a solid .385 OBP. It's too early to panic about him, particularly because a down year from Soto is still better than most ballplayers' best. The 26-year-old should heat up in no time.

Juan Soto smacked his first home run in a Mets uniform in Friday's 3-1 win over the Astros. It was a solo shot and his only hit of the day, going 1-for-3 with a walk in the contest. That makes him 2-for-6 with three walks (.556 OBP) after the team's first two regular season games. The 26-year-old signed a massive 15-year, $765 million contract with New York in the offseason, bringing his career .285/.421/.533 slash line along with him. The left-handed slugger seems to be fitting in just fine so far, and will face Astros' RHP
Spencer Arrighetti on Saturday night. Soto is 2-for-3 with a home run off Houston's starter, so be on the lookout for some fireworks again.

Juan Soto will be in the lineup for the team's Grapefruit League opener on Saturday against a Houston Astros split-squad team, according to manager
Carlos Mendoza. In addition to Soto, shortstop
Francisco Lindor and first baseman
Pete Alonso are expected to play. The 26-year-old Soto signed with the Mets on a 15-year, $765 million deal in free agency after helping lead the New York Yankees to the World Series last fall. He hit .288/.419/.569 with a career-high 41 home runs in 157 games for the Yankees last year and will come off the board in the first round of most fantasy drafts this spring. In addition to his 41 home runs in 2024, the four-time All-Star led the league in runs (128) and drove in 109 runs and stole seven bases. Soto is still only 26 years old and is easily one of the best all-around hitters in the game.
