JP Sears Tosses Five Scoreless Innings
5 months agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher JP Sears put together a much-needed strong start on Thursday versus the Los Angeles Angels. Sears had an awful month of June with a 7.94 ERA, but his July started on a much higher note with five shutout innings. Over that span, Sears allowed two hits, one walk and recorded six strikeouts. It was one of the best starts of the season for the left-hander and this can hopefully get his season back on track. Despite the strong effort, Sears has had plenty of blow up performances and is not likely to rack up many victories on a bad Athletics team. Outside of the most favorable streaming matchups, Sears can be avoided. Next up for the lefty will be a date with the Boston Red Sox on the road.
