Josh Gordon Thinks He's Close To Returning
5 years agoNew England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon (knee), who was placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, thinks that he's close to returning to play, according to a source. The Patriots will likely release him at this point, but he could be available to other teams as a free agent soon. It's a peculiar decision, but it looks the Patriots are giving up on Gordon after an unproductive season through six games. The 28-year-old has just 20 receptions for 287 yards and a touchdown. His fantasy owners were certainly expecting more once the Pats released Antonio Brown. Mohamed Sanu and Jakobi Meyers are the biggest beneficiaries of this move with Gordon, although rookie N'Keal Harry could also factor in later in the season when he's healthy. There's no guarantee that Gordon lands with another team and produces right away, but he's worth holding onto for a bit if you have the room.
