Josh Gordon Inactive Sunday Night
6 years agoNew England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon (hamstring) is inactive for Week 3 against the Lions on Sunday night. Gordon's hamstring isn't believed to be that serious, so he should be able to make his debut with the team next week. The bigger issue is Gordon's ability to learn the offense and gain trust with quarterback Tom Brady after being acquired via trade this week. Gordon has plenty of upside and even more so with the Patriots than the Browns, but he'll also be a high-risk WR3 in the short term until his role in New England is solidified. Julian Edelman returning from a suspension in Week 5 may also limit Gordon's production in the short term. Safety Patrick Chung (concussion) and defensive end Trey Flowers (concussion) are also inactive Sunday night. Their absences are good news for quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Detroit offense in what could be a high-scoring game.
