Josh Gordon Developing Relationship With Tom Brady
6 years agoNew England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon described his growing bond with quarterback Tom Brady as a "real natural type of relationship." The Patriots traded for Gordon on Sept. 17 and placed his locker next to Brady's. Gordon has played only 18 snaps apiece in the last two games but caught a 34-yard touchdown on Thursday against the Colts in Week 5. "It hasn't been too tough," Gordon said of learning the playbook. "I think that's greatly due in part to the amount of help I receive from teammates here -- definitely Tom, all the receivers help bring me along on a daily basis, the coaches, just giving me all the resources I need and me taking advantage of it, going home and studying it daily." It could be tough for Gordon to carve out a consistent role on a week-to-week basis with so many other mouths to feed in New England's improving offense. But Gordon's upside will grow the more he plays and the more trust he gains with Brady. For now, he's a boom/bust WR3 with a real chance to boom on Sunday night against a bad Chiefs secondary.
