6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell will bat leadoff Friday against the Phillies. According to Bill Brink, "Bell has led off one game before in his major league career: Sept. 30, 2016 against the Cardinals." He will face right-handed pitcher Nick Pivetta. Bell has never faced Pivetta and has a .244 batting average with 43 strikeouts in 221 at-bats against righties. The numbers tell us to sit Bell, and the leadoff position tells us he probably won't have the opportunity to knock in runs. He has more appeal in DFS games because of his lineup position, but Bell hasn't been that valuable to those in season-long leagues this year.--Aaron
