Jose Urena Struggles On His Birthday
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Jose Urena struggled against the Phillies on his 29th birthday. Urena allowed six runs on five hits and four walks in 4 1/3 innings, taking the loss and raising his season ERA to 7.71. Urena threw 90 pitches, 52 strikes, in getting just 13 outs. The lifetime Marlin has never really shown anything to imply that he'd be a good major league starting pitcher, but he keeps getting chance after chance in the Marlins rotation. Despite several better options already at the big league level, manager Don Mattingly is almost sure to give Urena another turn in the starting rotation. Every fantasy league's waiver wire should have better options.
