Jose Urena Named Opening Day Starter
7 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Jose Urena has been named the team's Opening Day starter. He'll get the nod over Dan Straily. On the surface, Urena was great in 2017 with a 14-7 record, 3.81 ERA and 1.27 WHIP, but when you look further, there are reasons to be skeptical. His FIP was 5.20 and he averaged just 6.0 strikeouts per nine innings and 3.4 walks per nine. He can be a successful streamer in NL-only leagues and DFS games, but Urena will likely struggle to stay consistent for those in mixed leagues in 2018.
