Jose Ramirez Not In The Lineup On Saturday
4 years agoCleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez (elbow) is not in the lineup on Saturday against Jake Odorizzi and the Houston Astros. Ramirez is dealing with some left elbow soreness, which also caused him to miss Friday's contest. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Ernie Clement will once again handle third base in his absence. The 28-year-old is batting .265 with a .882 OPSm 18 home runs, 50 RBI, and six stolen bases on the season.

Tests Return Negative For Jose Ramirez, Could Play On Monday
1 day agoThe imaging on Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez (wrist) all returned negative. Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reported that the 32-year-old could be available to pinch-hit on Sunday and "hopefully" return to the starting nine on Monday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears Ramirez avoided a significant injury. The third baseman was pulled from Saturday's contest after suffering a right wrist sprain when attempting to steal a base. Gabriel Arias shifted over to the hot corner on Sunday and will likely see most of the opportunities at that position if Ramirez were to miss more time. Fantasy managers should expect the Guardians to exercise caution with their superstar infielder, which could result in him being held out of the lineup occasionally. When healthy, he should be viewed as a must-start option in all formats.

Jose Ramirez Out Of Sunday's Lineup, Considered Day-To-Day
2 days agoCleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez (wrist) is absent from the series finale on Sunday against the division-rival Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium after he suffered a sprained right wrist on a stolen-base attempt in the third inning of Saturday's game. The good news is that manager Stephen Vogt said Ramirez is just day-to-day, so perhaps there's a chance he'll be ready to play in Monday's series opener against the hosting San Diego Padres at Petco Park after sitting out on Sunday. "He's doing alright. It's a mild sprain...he's day to day...we all know what that means with Josey...gonna see how he feels in the morning...think I'm going to have to hold him down to keep him out of there," Vogt said. With J-Ram out, Gabriel Arias is at third and batting seventh, while Daniel Schneemann gets the start at second and will bat eighth against Royals veteran right-hander Michael Wacha.

Jose Ramirez Exits Early On Saturday
2 days agoCleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez (wrist) was pulled out early during Saturday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Ramirez appears to have suffered a right wrist sprain during his stolen base attempt earlier in the game. He remained in the game for a bit afterwards, but looked sluggish during his at-bat in the sixth inning. Gabriel Arias has taken over at third base and could see more time at the hot corner if Ramirez is forced to miss time. The expectation is that Guardians will give more information on his status following Saturday's game.
