Jose Iglesias Going For MRI
6 years agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias (abdomen) will undergo an MRI exam on Thursday after he left the game early with a lower abdominal strain on Wednesday. He was walking through the clubhouse slowly after the game and said he was "pretty sore." "It's not good," manager Ron Gardenhire said, "but we haven't had an MRI or anything yet. It's just in a bad area. We have to wait. We're trying to figure out what we're going to do." Iglesias said the injury had been bothering him for a couple days. He has been a trade candidate leading up to the deadline this Friday, but that may change if his injury keeps him out for a while. This looks like an injury that could send him to the disabled list, so plan for the worst if you own him. The slick-fielding defender is hitting .269 with 31 doubles (second on the team) with five homers, 48 RBI, a .699 OPS and career-high 15 stolen bases. Ronny Rodriguez will likely take over for Iglesias for however long he's out.
