8 months agoToronto Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios tossed a gem in a 3-1 win over the Oakland A's on Friday. Berrios allowed one run on six hits over seven innings while striking out eight and walking one to earn the win. The veteran wound up notching 12 swinging strikes to improve his record to 10-9 on the season. Overall, Berrios has a 3.97 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 111 strikeouts over 142 2/3 innings of work. Even though his strikeouts are down this season, Berrios remains a solid mid-rotation asset in fantasy leagues. He will look to stay hot in his next start, which is scheduled for Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels.--Matt T - RotoBaller

9 months agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios was racking up strikeouts during Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Berrios recorded 10 strikeouts while allowing four runs in a no-decision. The long ball continues to haunt Berrios as all the damage in this game came off home runs. Despite that, Berrios was able to miss enough bats with his excellent stuff that it kept his team in the game. He'll take a 3.76 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 87/29 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Arizona Diamondbacks.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
