Jorge Soler Swats Grand Slam Saturday
3 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Jorge Soler launched a grand slam to cap off his club's 8-0 win over the Padres on Saturday night. His 405' shot to left field in the top of the ninth was his first slam of his career, and fourth long ball of the year, as he also added a double to finish the game going 2-for-5. Soler has had a slow start to his debut season with the Marlins by hitting just .178 with eight runs and 12 RBI through 27 games, but he's beginning to pick up some steam at the dish. The power has always been there for the 30-year-old, it's just a matter of how much of a hit his batting average will take to provide the counting numbers.
