Jorge Lopez Promoted To Starting Spot
5 years agoKansas City Royals pitcher Jorge Lopez has been bumped up into the rotation moving forward. Manager Ned Yost told reporters about the move, stating that Lopez has been pitching better and is thus worthy of the spot. That's not really clear since he gave up nine earned runs in 11 innings of work scattered across three starts in August, but he has bumped up his strikeouts in his last three appearances (11 in 7 1/3 innings), so maybe that's what Yost is alluding to. Either way, Lopez has shown no signs of being a dependable starter in any way, and so only those in submarine-deep leagues who have absolutely no other options should turn to him.
