Jorge Alfaro Won't Swing a Bat for a Few Days
5 years agoMiami Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro (oblique) will be running and doing activities to stay in shape, but won't swing a bat or throw a ball for a few days, according to Marlins manager Don Mattingly. The current belief is that the Marlins caught Alfaro's tight oblique early enough to keep it from becoming a major issue. They'll likely be extremely cautious with their starting catcher, as a full on oblique strain would almost certainly cause Alfaro to miss Opening Day. Francisco Cervelli and Chad Wallach are next up on the Marlins catching depth chart.
