4 years agoMiami Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro (hamstring) is scheduled to run and hit this weekend. He's been able to catch bullpens so running and hitting will be the next steps in his rehab. Alfaro hasn't played since April 20th due to a hamstring injury. The Marlins have been playing with Chad Wallach and Sandy Leon behind the plate. While Alfaro wasn't off to a good start this season, the Marlins are desperate for something from their catcher's spot, and Alfaro at least has the most upside out of the three catchers on the roster. He should be back within a week assuming he progresses through his rehab without any setbacks.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
