Jorge Alfaro Starting In Left Field For Some Reason
3 years agoMiami Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro will be the starting left fielder for Tuesday's game against the New York Mets. Alfaro is certainly athletic enough to handle a corner outfield spot, but with a .222/.269/.319 batting line, it's unclear why the team is trying so hard to get his bat into the lineup. The Marlins will be giving the newly acquired Alex Jackson an extended look behind the plate, which everyone thought meant Alfaro and Sandy Leon would serve as backup catchers. Apparently not, Alfaro is a starting left fielder now.
