Jordan Zimmermann Has Resumed Throwing
6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann (abdomen) said he has already started throwing in Florida after core muscle surgery in October. He hasn't had any neck or back issues and isn't expected to need a nerve-block injection for the first time in a few years. Zimmermann will be 33 in May and just isn't much of a fantasy option these days outside of deep AL-only setups. The veteran right-hander doesn't miss many bats at this point in his career, is an injury risk and hasn't had an ERA below 4.52 since 2015 with the Nationals. Zimmermann went 7-8 last season with Detroit, posting a 4.52 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 7.6 K/9 in 25 starts (131 1/3 innings).
