Jordan Westburg Placed On The Injured List
Jordan Westburg (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday afternoon with a right-hand fracture. In a corresponding move, the Orioles recalled infielder Livan Soto from Triple-A Norfolk. Westburg left Wednesday's game early after being hit by a pitch in his right hand. Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde expressed after the game that the team hopes to have Westburg back before the end of the season. The 25-year-old was enjoying a nice breakout season, boasting a strong .269/.317/.497 line with 18 home runs and six stolen bases. Under the hood, he carried a 47.0% hard-hit rate and 12.3% barrel rate, which are among the best marks in the sport. While sidelined, fantasy managers should expect top prospect Jackson Holliday to cover the keystone while Ramon Urias holds down the hot corner.

Jordan Westburg To Start Rehab Assignment This Week
Jordan Westburg (hamstring) is with Triple-A Norfolk and will work out with them for a couple days before starting a minor-league rehab assignment with them later this week, according to MASN's Roch Kubatko. Westburg is eligible to return from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday, but fantasy managers might have to wait until early next week or this weekend to get him back. With both Westburg and Ramon Urias (hamstring) on the shelf, the Orioles called up third base prospect Coby Mayo to see action at third base. Mayo struggled in his 17-game MLB debut a year ago and is hitless in his first six plate appearances since he was called up. Westburg should return to being the club's primary third baseman when he's activated, even though he's started slow by hitting .217/.265/.391 with four homers and six RBI in his first 92 at-bats before his injury.

Tyler O'Neill, Jordan Westburg "Days Away" From Returning
Tyler O'Neill (neck) and infielder Jordan Westburg (hamstring) are more "days away" than "weeks away" from returning from the injured list. The Orioles are talking about whether either player needs to go on a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated from the IL. The oft-injured O'Neill is eligible to return this Sunday and should return to a regular role in the Orioles outfield despite starting the season with a .215/.284/.385 slash line with two homers and 10 RBI in 75 plate appearances. Ramon Laureano will return to the bench when O'Neill returns. Westburg can come off the IL as soon as next Wednesday. The 26-year-old was also struggling at the plate with a .217 average, four home runs and six RBI, but he should resume his regular role at third upon his return, especially with Ramon Urias (hamstring) currently injured.

Jordan Westburg Placed On Injured List
Jordan Westburg (hamstring) on the injured list with a hamstring injury. The team initially noted that he was "day-to-day." However, the infielder has not progressed well and will now miss at least a few weeks of action. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status while he is sidelined. Over his last six games, the 26-year-old has begun to heat up at the plate, holding a .333/.333/.500 slash line with two doubles and one triple. Prior to this surge, Westburg held a modest .176/.243/.353 line with four long balls and five RBI over his first 17 games of the campaign. Under the hood, Westburg has generated a strong 12.9 percent barrel rate with a .462 xSLG, which suggests he should continue to see positive regression when he returns. While he is sidelined, Ramon Urias will likely cover the hot corner in most games.

Jordan Westburg Day-To-Day, Not Playing Against Yankees
Jordan Westburg (hamstring) is day-to-day, but he's not in the starting lineup on Monday against the division-rival New York Yankees at Camden Yards. "We're staying optimistic and hopeful," Hyde said. This will mark Westburg's second straight day out of the starting lineup due to a hamstring injury. The 26-year-old had testing done on Monday. Although he's considered day-to-day for now, Westburg could still be a candidate to land on the injured list if he's unable to return to the starting lineup the rest of this week. Ramon Urias will make the start at third base and bat seventh on Monday against Yankees right-hander Will Warren. So far in 2025, Westburgh hasn't done much offensively, hitting .217/.265/.391 with four homers, six RBI and 12 runs scored. Fantasy managers will need to check back on Tuesday to see if he's back in the starting lineup.
